and i think recognizing those moments of gratitude is important so first off and this one's a little

unique i guess but uh i'm grateful for technology uh i'm looking around at at the setup i have

um i'm kind of a gearhead i like tech um and i've got my phone going live

i just think there's so so much power in technology and it can be used for good and it can be used for bad and we've

seen evidence of that all throughout history whatever form that technology takes and so i

am grateful for technology so ask yourself what are you grateful for today what's relevant to what you're doing

right now uh you can find little moments or big moments of gratitude so

back to the topic of what we're going to talk about so how to how to stand out profitably and attract

well one of the best ways to stand out and be different and to get noticed for all the right

reasons is through what i call belief statements

when you can communicate what you believe and what is true to you i guarantee it will be true to many more

people we often find belief statements done well within political social religious

movements where people feel like they can be a part of something they can belong they can have a sense of identity so

when you can communicate belief statements then you can easily attract the people you feel called to serve because

they can they're interested in thinking more like you um it's not in a way that is um

it's not coercion it's not hard selling it's more of just inviting them hey like this is how i

like to live my life or this is how i like to operate operate my business

to create your belief statements let me just bring this down cool

looking good looking good making sure it's on the channels belief statements so it can be as simple

as creating a series of phrases or statements that simply yet powerfully communicate what

you believe what you stand for in your business

and this is a big part of brand building is that it's one thing yeah to

put together a product or service and you're selling it it's solving a problem people want to buy it

but that only gets you so far eventually people will go to another business your

competition if you don't if you don't invite them into a story that's about them

and belief statements are one of the best ways to do that so uh let's start off i'm going to share

which literally says our belief statements and it starts off we believe dot dot dot we believe

okay so you heard me say that early on that is one of our core beliefs if you feel like that connects

with you then you know you're like hey tell me more or what kind of products or services do you

sell and so if you feel a sense of connection to the identity around that as well so okay

let's break it down so believe it's time it's time right now right this moment to take a stand

what does it mean take a stand not literally i mean i guess you can stand up but i'm gonna screw back a little bit um

it can mean you you literally stand up but more so it's a you know fictitive

standing up where you take a stand if people are telling you you can't think a certain

way you can't act a certain way you can't live a certain way taking a stand is the moment that you

show them what you believe and what you're willing to die for basically um and as dramatic as

that may sound and especially if you have a business uh you're not gonna you know it's not

gonna be a fatal moment but it's important to communicate what is a non-negotiable

and so that's what these belief statements are so take a stand for what you believe so you got to

communicate actually what you believe so people know hey i know what they stand for i can stand with them

or if i don't agree with it i'll stand against them you know there's it's black or white it's uh there's that

contrast you're either in or you're out so you take a stand for what you believe and then fully commit

to your brand mission that you feel called to build so your brand mission is and we'll doc

talk about that in a second we talk about vision and our mission you feel called to build

something and the mission so first off the vision is where you're going to go like what is

that future that you envision for the world the community

and then so that's the where to where you're going and then the mission is how you're going to get there who's

going to help you get there and what it is that you need to do to make that happen

okay so we got that here's a few other belief statements that i've created and this can be a long list

for your brand you don't make it too long because you want to make sure your team or your customers can understand or at

least remember a few key ones um but make it makes make it possible to to memorize

uh to be able to communicate so that way if someone may communicate something that conflicts to

what your belief statements are then you can take that stand and communicate it back

and do so in a way too keep in mind all of this is done with the lens of kindness generosity

and positivity because if you don't if you're not motivated by some of those values then

having belief statements that really are against you know doing against

kindness you know that's that's not a great place to be and that's that's a big thing i believe in for sure

is doing things born out of kindness and integrity and and things like that so a second

part is we believe you can be who you want to be so we are all born obviously we're

living here we're all born into a sense of belonging we have family we develop friendships

different relationships and all of this comes back to the moment though that we're born we're

born as an individual we are our unique people yet the same in

the sense that we are all part of the big human family and but in in that sense of

identity we can take claim out of becoming who we want to be and um

and whatever identity that may look like be that a a awesome dad maybe it is

um an incredible partner or spouse maybe it is a business owner

i speak to you as visionaries because i believe when you can take that identity of a visionary

then you can become who you want to be because the visionary sets that

vision of where they want to go where they want to take their brand where they want to take their customers

and then the mission that they invite people to be a part of

is the journey that takes them there so you can be who you want to be another belief statement we believe the

future is for those who see it and then build it you know where a big part of this is

born out of this belief statement for me is obviously the visionary aspect of believing in the future

that you first see and then you seek to build

uh but it's also borne out of this idea that there's in all things there's first a

spiritual creation and then a physical creation the spiritual creation

is not tangible it happens in your head maybe even it happens on on paper right you

you build a model of it but it's not it's not physical yet it's not fully built yet uh it may be your next project

your next product or service your next brand uh or your current one right a project

that you're currently working on you first see it in your mind and then you seek

to build it it's that spiritual creation and then that physical creation one uh one example i

love of this um one of my favorite visionaries out there is walt disney he's one of the most recognizable ones

you throw out his name people you know associate what he stands for what his company

has stand for which is a big part family values um wholesome media hopefully right

um through that lens when he was alive um but shortly before he passed away

he was literally on his deathbed he was there in the hospital he was there with his brother roy his

older brother who was a partner in his business who was

basically running the books and other parts of business strategy and here's walt

laying on the bed this is after disneyland has been built and

it's a worldwide success people love it children love it and the plans were already in the works

to build out disney world in florida and i don't think ground was

broken yet but walt had such a vivid vision for what he wanted walt disney

world to be like which was a bigger expansive experience than what disneyland

had at that point and literally he's there laying on the bed painting

out with his hand on the ceiling this is what i envisioned disney world to look like and to be like

he was doing that spiritual creation before the physical creation happened

unfortunately he didn't live to see walt disney world finished and in full operation

but i can you can bet your bottom dollar that it really came together as he

envisioned it because he had that vision of where he wanted to take things but then he communicated at first to roy

and then to his team the company and that got translated into that physical creation

so that definitely aligns to being that identity of a visionary

another statement that i've created for for my business is we believe in ownership

not victimship i believe that owners and victims are polar opposites you're

either you either own a situation a decision a project

or you are a victim to it uh victims often struggle a lot more not that owners

don't struggle owners definitely struggle everyone struggles but it's the perspective of that

struggle and that challenge you either become the victim or you become the owner when you become the victim

you are negative you point out all of the flaws of you have a lack of hope lack of optimism

you don't think that anything will work out and you see yourself as kind of a pity member to the

experience and then ownership is when you can take ownership

recognize that there are flaws you have there are areas for improvement yet you're willing

to commit to what that next level can look like and to take ownership over those

projects those problems those decisions

okay and then another piece and this is this one's definitely connects to my own personal

beliefs but i i truly do believe our personal beliefs especially if you're the business owner

should fit within aspects of our brand beliefs because if we can align

personal views to um brand views if we're the business owner then we can

build something that aligns throughout all aspects of our lives and then we can

invite team members and customers to align with that as well so i do believe in god and so i do believe

and i this is i say it as a we believe statement we believe that god is the ultimate visionary and the perfect model for success above

all else um he's perfect and he sets up a model for

us to follow to be more perfect not that we can be perfect right this moment we're all imperfect

but yet that we can go on this journey of that final result um

always chasing and always seeking to become more more perfect more better

so this uh this last piece that i have and this is an evolving list there may be adjustments and that's okay

but all business decisions should be made all projects should be made through

the lens of these belief statements we believe everyone has a powerful message inside of them

that needs to be shared with the world okay so this one really speaks to

what i love so much about the power of content and video to communicate a powerful message um

share it with the world and invite people into that that message that mission that story that you're

sharing so everyone has one by the way whether you are a brand builder

maybe you're a freelancer maybe you're not even in business yet everyone has some kind of thing

they want to say they have something to say sometimes the introvert in them uh i know this definitely kicks

me in the butt sometimes as uh as an introvert but uh

the introvert in them or there's lemony beliefs there's myths they feel this sense this fear of

judgment that people will judge them if they speak their mind they speak what they believe

but if you don't then you are robbing people of the opportunity of learning from you

hearing your unique perspective and then even if you repel some people

at the same time you will attract just as many people if not more because they can stand with you and

recognize hey this person actually takes a stand for something

this definitely connects to something that i love from the play and i'm sure eventually full

movie hamilton where you've got these two political

iconic characters from american history we got alexander hamilton who is this financial genius

uh and uh and leader at this time to aaron burr uh he

and aaron aaron burr and alexander hamilton were friends at times but they also were

competition and often also polar opposites

alexander hamilton at least as what was communicated through this uh

this theater production took a stand and wanted the freedom

wanted to make certain decisions and wanted to not take the safe road in order to see what he envisioned to be

successful for his family his community and the nation that they were

then set up to build and customize you know this american experiment and then aaron burr you know uh he

was wishy-washy he didn't really take a full stand and he kind of catered to the times or what

he thought people wanted to hear and uh i may butcher this phrase but there's

something that alexander hamilton says to aaron burr that he's like if you don't take a stand like if you

fall for something like what do you fall for so basically saying like why don't you take a stand aaron like you

are failing to take a stand so no one's standing with you you're not winning the votes you're not making the impact that you

want to make and so it all goes back to this idea of taking a stand and knowing what you want knowing what you want to

create okay and i want to hit on this real quick so these are

uh first are our vision so this is speaking to what i've written

out as our vision and when you say our vision this is again where you want to go what is that

future what does that future look like so the where we have a vision of a world where

mindset environment and technology are no longer barriers to sharing

influential messages that build profitable brands and meaningful relationships

so what that speaks to is this idea that living in a world so this is the future

or mindset so internal beliefs internal thoughts environment so what's around you what's

outside of the mind who are the people what are the circumstances

and technology so the tools are no longer a barrier to sharing

influential messages with content with video that build profitable brands and

meaningful relationships so at the end of the day um there's really a two-fold elements of

success that i see um that often are yeah are the root of most successful businesses all

successful businesses is that they focus on profit uh you definitely need to generate a profit and

to make more money to extend your influence expand your team but then meaningful relationships both

with the business owner and themselves with you as the visionary you need to have a meaningful relationship with yourself

with your family with your coworkers with your employees and then with your customers and the community in the world at large

and so to me having eliminating those barriers and making a

path forward a plan forward for visionaries to build the future they

want and do so by communicating what that future is to their team their family you know

the community and uh and their customers because then when you can communicate that

you can invite people into that story so that's the where is living in that

world and gratefully thankfully

there's a lot of tools out there that make that possible the technology nowadays makes it much easier and helps us

achieve this vision right we've got the phones for video recording for audio recording for

the written word for different types of content we got affordable cameras which 10

years ago 10 plus years ago wasn't as affordable wasn't as democratized not as accessible

as they are today the computer is the technology it's available in easy getter hands on and then

environment so creating an environment you know we've seen quite this evolution from 2020 to 2021

and and on there's this gonna be this constant evolution of environment that makes it easier or

harder for us to clarify communicate and create a message that

gets people excited to buy products and services and uh in this kind of

communication let me pull this down real fast this kind of communication

happens best when you have the environment that is set up for you to succeed

because a lot of times whether it's our office space or

if we're on the go and depending on if we got kids making noises what have you or

then the environment is not set up for for us to succeed to click to easily communicate and

actually that's one reason why like i've i give myself this sense of you know i've set up my technology

i've set up my environment so i have my own office in the past i didn't i worked out on my

my bedroom when i first started bootstrapping my business um and then i'm working on my mindset

it's that's always the most evolving piece and often the hardest

to uh to change and transform but my technology my environment are soft those are no longer

barriers for me it's the mindset and so to help my mindset and to create better habits

i've set a 10 am mountain standard time locked and loaded in my calendar every

day to go live and to share different nuggets of value to help you build your vision

uh communicate that vision create it and you know and fuel it with the content

and videos that you need to succeed and grow your business and i give it i've i've tried to

eliminate what my mindset may get in the way of put on my calendar get it locked people can't book time you

know i i just it can't be interrupted it's not negotiable um and so committing myself to that

and what helps on top of that is having accountability partners along the way is is really

getting getting that set up for you to succeed and my mindset's gonna be the hardest piece but but that's why like

for me it's like okay how can i be the best case study to this this vision that we have and

then through the coaching the services the training the teaching that i do

how can i be the best case study through the process and act in integrity so that way people

can also eliminate the mindset the environment and technology that gets in the way of

helping them share influential messages that helps them build a successful business and develop more meaningful

relationships so that is part of my vision um and

definitely yeah and like i saw a note i think it was from kyle that teaching is definitely the best way

of learning the more we can teach the more we can learn how to better communicate the

ideas that are in our head um and remove the limiting beliefs and the mindset

the people who change the world are the ones who take a stand for what they believe in

reiterating some of those statements i said before share that message with content and by others and to their shared purpose so

it's an invite always when you share an influential message you're doing so in a way that invites

people into that story that's about them every time so that is uh those are some

of the main pieces um i would i would begin with um i would begin really with our vision uh

first and foremost actually uh i know we're talking a lot about belief-based messaging here

creating these belief statements but when you know what the future is that you want for yourself for your family

for your community for your customers community clearly what that looks like

um and even go as far like i mean i can expand upon this vision by the way to communicate like what is that what

does that that climatic see that end scene of a movie look like after everything's resolved when life

looks so good who are you surrounded by what are you

doing what does life look like what does the business look like is it a 10 million dollar business is it

100 million business is it maybe just a million dollar business you have a small team yet you are you

have the freedom of time of finances to give back and to serve people

um and so describing what that looks like um and oftentimes those can be broken down even to results-based bullet points

uh i've got examples of my on my website of what results look like after someone

future looks like and then as you do that then i would step into the belief

statements next because the belief statements really are going to bridge

the divide the small divide but the divide between your vision and your mission because then you can

filter all your decisions and what you write and do through these belief statements so

writing out belief statements like and start with your personal beliefs your personal values like what do you believe um and i'm not

asking you to get religious here or political here or even super social here

but just communicate you know like what uh what do you currently filter your decisions through each day do you

believe that you know it's important to have time with family to have time freedom do you believe that everyone should have

uh time freedom um right now and in their future to do what

they want with their time and to give back do you do you believe people should be more charitable do you you know like

do you believe like just just writing out what you believe just

brainstorm it spend that time and sit in that silence and a lot of these beliefs you'll find

are going to be done through this sense of identity and belonging

that when you communicate these belief statements people feel like hey i can identify with that and i want

to be a part of these beliefs as well i want to take ownership over these beliefs

so these belief statements get those written out and then go down to your mission

communicate what it is your mission is who is involved with it and why you're doing it it's your big why

and then you can fit some of your belief statements some elements of those and to your mission statement but also um

communicate what is that journey that you your team even your family

your customers need to go on what needs to be achieved in order to then achieve and build that vision that you

have this is where belief based messaging is born out of it

is inviting people into also believing with you what you believe okay

know it doesn't have to be the first step for you to get started but as long as you allow yourself to start creating

start removing those mindset technology and environment barriers that exist getting those

messages out there and oftentimes that voice and that clarity of your mission your vision and those belief statements

will come as you take action uh but yeah i would recommend doing it as early on as possible as you

can um but not yeah not letting it stop you from simply just taking action and creating
